The first started as a sketch with permanent marker...I scanned it in (back when I had a scanner), then scanned in another sketch & put 'em together in Photoshop & did some other stuff involving filters & layers. The second one is a lettering practice piece/cultural commentary, which was then slightly (& digitally) edited. Enjoy.

...for lack of a better term, since so much of it is digital these days. Guess it's better than going through piles of forms on one's kitchen table...but still.

It's a pain in the ass. One of the curses of modern civilization.

Gotta get ready for the annual bleeding by the U.S. government!...

...it's actually ridiculous since for the most part, the IRS already knows what we all earned last year. We really shouldn't have to sweat over taxes like this. But that's how the system is set up. Sometimes modern civilization is a pain in the ass.

Aside from that, I've been working on a couple small projects lately. Not the kinda stuff people normally post here. I will get back to the art when I can. I have been doing some lettering practice here & there; if any of it turns out good enough I'll post it. Was gonna restrict this account to finished work only but given my participation rate, that rule doesn't make sense.

I haven't done much lately as my main condition has been flaring for quite a few days now. Because of it & other stuff (joint pain & an active lower tract), I've had little energy for creative activity of any kind. It'll pass sooner or later... Of course the time when the fedgov takes its cut of our earnings & profits is coming, too. Gotta gather all the paperwork for that, etc. As always, life has its demands.

....as of now, it's raining again.

So I have a some old stuff & three more recent* pieces up. Please take a look.

What I like about NG so far: It has community spirit. The Website Which Will Not Be Named used to have that in the early 2000's...wouldn't be surprised if there was an exodus here from there. Much positive spirit & haven't seen much trolling so far.

What I dislike: the feeling that I'm out of place. Perhaps that can't be helped, considering. There are tons of millennials & 20-something zoomers on here. I have no problem with that; in fact I make it a point to talk to them so as not to get stuck in my generation's views. That's an easy trap to fall into as you age. But almost all these kids do their stuff entirely on Wacom tablets or similar devices, with various image-editing programs/apps. I get it--they're convenient; you can undo stuff & so fix your mistakes; it's much cleaner than charcoal sticks/pastels/other trad media. These kids are growing up with phones in their hands so it's only natural for them to make their art this way. But it has an effect on the art they make.

And they don't know what they're missing out on.

So much of the stuff I see on here is game-related, anime characters, etc. A shit-ton of toons. I respect the better game developers on here, definitely...it must take a lot to build a functional computer game, especially if you program it & get into the actual code. But all this stuff is utterly unlike what I'm posting here.

Maybe it's just the way the art world is going now. If so, then I'm not a dinosaur...I am a fucking trilobite.

*relatively speaking, that is

3/3/23 Edit: There's a ton of porn on here, too. Some of it is amusing; the rest is boring AF. If I was desperately hungry for views I could make some myself...but I won't. Not anytime soon.

Hi. After a hiatus of several years, my art is back on the Internet.

(I did have an Instaspam page for my art for over two years but as I opened it after the point when Instaspam stopped being a decent platform for posting art, it doesn't count in my book)

In the early to mid-2000's I was fairly active on the Website Which Will Not Be Named. It was more of a community back then. Once the main founder was ousted by the other two leaders things started changing, as a few people here probably know. Much more recently, AI "art generator" programs were invented & the WWWNBN came up with its own; because of that & management's unethical rollout of it the best creators on there have been leaving, etc. That place has been in decline for a while & now it's a sinking ship. You know the story.

Had been thinking about posting my work somewhere off & on since late 2021, & after some research I settled on here. Hope you enjoy what I do.
